But the fun part about blogging is trying new things. Maybe I’m just trying them because they’re seasonal and everyone’s posting stuffing, casseroles, and other turkey day recipes, but hey! Still tried something I never would have before.
And I have plenty of cranberries left after this little Thanksgiving cocktail, so you’ll see them again soon. And any ideas you have for things to make with cranberries (aside from cranberry sauce) are welcome.
Thanksgiving is all about family, friends and delicious food. Luckily, the food blogging community is all about these things as well. So Susannah and Megan from Cake n Knife are hosting an awesome week with 20 bloggers and FIFTY-TWO Thanksgiving recipes!
The idea is based on the old-fashioned progressive dinner party, in which you’d eat each course at a different guest’s home. Each blogger is bringing one or more dishes to the party on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week, so be sure to stop by each one and get some ideas for your own Thanksgiving meal. Today’s courses include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and soup.
We’ll be posting to social media with the hashtag #blogsgivingdinner. Hope you can join us!
When I was standing in the juice aisle of the grocery store, I had been planning on just grabbing a bottle of regular, old cranberry juice. But then I saw all of the options that were available! Cran-apple. Cranberry + raspberry. Cranberry + pomegranate. White cranberry + strawberry. Regular cranberry juice didn’t seem good enough, exciting enough, after that.
I knew bourbon cranberry would be good, but bourbon lemonade is also good. Football season begins winding down toward the end of November, so this cocktail does double duty for Thanksgiving and tailgating. Celebrate the holiday and cheer on your team with friends, family, and good food!
