cookbook announcement!

Happy Friday, friends! I’ve been dying to share this post with you for *quite* some time, but I’ve been so insanely busy. I kept trying to make a new recipe for this post so I’d still have one to share with you, but I finally realized that I may never make this announcement if I keep trying to do it that way. So here it is.

I’m writing a cookbook!

I’m SO stinking excited. I’ve been up to my elbows in flour and powdered sugar and holy crap the amount of butter I have purchased since May. I’m very thankful for grocery store cashiers who do not judge people based on the items in their grocery carts lol.

I feel like getting a cookbook deal is every food blogger’s dream. It has certainly been mine since I began blogging seven (!??) years ago. I’d actually decided to write and self-publish an ebook when this opportunity came along, so the timing was pretty insane! But I’m so so thankful and I can’t wait for this book to be out in the world!

Here are some details! The cookbook is all southern dessert recipes, y’all! And the title is Hello, Sugar: Classic Southern Sweets. And I’m doing all the photography! My publisher is Magnolia Grove Press, an imprint of Globe Pequot Press. And the publish date is set for April 1, 2018!

It’s been a lot of work in addition to my day job, which is why I’ve had to scoot this here little blog to the back burner. I thought I might still be able to do both if I was doing a bunch of recipe testing and photography anyway. But! My manuscript is due in September, so hopefully after that I’ll be posting regularly here again.
