Cinnamon Sugar Cookies
  • ½ cup browned butter (browned, then cooled to a solid state--but still soft)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine butter and sugar and beat on medium high speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add the egg, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix well.
  2. Gradually add the flour, beating on low speed until a soft dough comes together. Cover and chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼th inch thickness. Cut into circles, mine were about 2½ inches in diameter. Transfer dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then let them cool completely before icing.
