About a month ago, Mary invited me to do a collaborative post with her about making layer cakes! The premise of the post is learning how to make an elegant layer cake in your home with everything you already have. No fancy equipment or ingredients. No piping bags or stand mixers. Although I do really love all of those things, making a simple and delicious cake doesn’t require any of them.
Mary suggested a banana cake with peanut butter frosting and I’m so glad she did! It turned out wonderfully, not that peanut butter and banana could ever be bad together. Match made in heaven right there!
So to see all the excellent step-by-step photos Rachel and Noah took, plus the recipes (which include the banana cake, peanut butter frosting, and alternate cream cheese frosting in case of peanut allergies), and all of Mary’s extra tips, head over to Laylon Blog!!

What a wonderful collaboration! The photos are spectacular!
